Well the BAD BOYS of BBQ exceeded my expectations!! Lots of great people and of course great FOOD!Talked to Randy, Raider Bitch, Essex Raider and other hard core fans hope to do it again soon. The game is not even worth talking about just plain and simple BAD football.    I would also like to point out how AWESOME the pre game was with the fly over, all the military out on the field the huge AMEREICAN FLAG and those SOLDIERS running out of the tunnel with that RAIDER FLAG it really gave me the goose bumps USA!!!

and last, and yes least, jamarcus could cook himself a sandwich on the flame. and THAT is the bottom of the barrel.

too funny bro..Ja'Russell cooking his marshmellows the moment right after he lights the torch.

As for your comment about will Art Shell ever light it.. really is a shame of that 2-14 season that put a blemish on his raider career.

But Art Shell is the man, he should of already lit it already.

Gannon deserves to light it too.

after a while, will we get repeats lighting the torch? like when they can't find anyone so they drag john vella up there again and again. or they heal more wounds and have norv turner do it when the chargers are in town? will art shell ever light it?

Maybe they'll do a drawing and have season ticket holders light it? Or maybe Superfans like Seņor Raider or Gorilla Rilla or Crusader Raider? Maybe even Raider Greg?   ;)

By the way, it looks like it's more than a rumor. This article says Gruden WILL light the torch tomorrow.

http://www.csnbayarea.com/football-oakland-raiders/raiders-talk/Jon-Gruden-to-light-Al-Davis-Memorial-Fl?blockID=803071&feedID=2801

we'll know they're scraping the bottom of the barrel when joe bugel, mike white, and lane kiffin light the torch. what about gannon? after his 'burn the place down and start over' comment, will they let him near the flame? maybe they could let tim kawakami light it and his "smoking pot buddies" could spark up some doobies.

and last, and yes least, jamarcus could cook himself a sandwich on the flame. and THAT is the bottom of the barrel.

rumor has it that gruden's lighting the torch this sunday. now if he could only light a fire under the team's ass to get it to win.

i appreciate the efforts of he of the magic bullet to heal old wounds and add to the ranks of raider greats who could stay connected to the franchise. having marcus allen and gruden light the torch is great. now if he could only find about $20 million or more in cap space and a few draft picks so this team can finally stop sucking ... then we'd be good.

and can we hire chucky to coach the raiders again? hmm ... maybe i'm looking for a quick fix. he didn't do much in tampa other than win with dungy's team. and maybe allen will become a great coach. beats me. just win, baby. now, please.

I can't wait to see the crew again!  I scored tickets in the black hole!  I'll be sitting there for the first time since the 90's .... I'm gonna get loud in this one!  The Rain will only help us and gives us the best chance to win... N.O. Isn't a good grass outside turf team either so we got some factors going for us.... I really think we can win if they fight

The raider offensive line are a bunch of cavemen.  They aren't very intelligent but they are strong.  This is why they are better suited for a power running game.  See the guy in front of you, knock his block off.  Knapp wants to fit a square peg into a round hole.  He doesn't have the personnel to run a zone blocking scheme.  Doesn;t matter.  He will be gone after next season

Ok, here's a question I'm hoping you guys can help with because even before he actually got injured McFadden was being killed by the consistently hopeless execution in our run game. Why is it we seemingly have to be either a zone blocking team or a power running team? With the zone blocking clearly not getting us anywhere couldn't they mix it up and run 50% zone / 50% power runs? Defenses seem perfectly capable of running hybrid 3-4's and mixing up zone / man coverage - is there no offensive equivalent or are we just being stubborn? "Knapp does zone and that's it"

Answers on a postcard please oh knowledgeable nation!

This doesn't fall on Greg Knapp ok maybe the play calling isn't good but why is everyone over looking this shitty defense 97 points in the last two weeks its not the offense it's the defense.

I agree.  We had a few decent games where we put some good pressure on the QB and was tough against the run.  Other than that they have looked like complete shit.

In the end...:P  Seriously though...I'm starting to think that this season is more about judging the character of our guys and seeing who they want to stay and who will be hitting the road after the season.  Say what you will but Palmer has been the MVP for our team thus far.  WRs have played decent...too many dropped balls though!  With the exception of Burris, Wheeler and Houston....maybe Branch the defense has been the biggest disappointment and surprise to me :(

I am making the trip for this game! I definitely plan on finally meeting all the guys from the Raider Nation Podcast and The Bad Boys of BBQ. Hopefully i can get some info. on the Tailgate before sunday so i am prepared and ready. Also is there any get togethers on Saturday night where everyone gets together?

At the end of the DAY win or lose i just want to have a good time!!!

The tailgating section of the forum has all the info you'd ever need......very detailed directions including a map. You'll get to meet Oscar "RaiderWilde" from Australia, "Raider Bitch"......both traveling to this game also...plus regulars like Juan Jorge, probably Raider Mike....of course Greg and myself. Can't wait to see you Raul! Let me know if you still have any questions after looking over that tailgating section.

JUST BOUGHT MY TICKETS TODAY, I WILL BE IN THE HOUSE FOR THIS GAME!  GO RAIDERS!!!

All right Matty! Gonna tailgate with us, right? Get on the videocast.  :D

Absolutely!  I couldn't go there without meeting you guys and tailgating!!!  I am flying out with 4 buddies of mine.  We have been doing an annual football trip since 2004 and this year it is Oakland!  I cannot wait!  The only time I was there was October of 2006, saw our Raiders blow a 21-0 lead at the half and fall 24-21 to the Cleveland Browns  :'(  (Haven't we talked about this??  Cleveland and Miami always giving us problems)

Anyway, as time gets closer I will definitely have to reach out to you and Greg in regards to getting us squared away with the tailgate.  Put that camera on me Randy, I'm game!

HELL YEAAAAAA Thats what Im talkin about Brutha........ This will be EPIC!

Thanks Raider Greg!  Can't wait to meet you guys and tailgate!  I am jacked!  So excited to get out there.  Hey, like you always say, "you gotta put your ass in a seat!"

Matty..

Did you not float the idea of Baltimore as well? Is the Ravens a Road Game (I know your from the East Coast)

If so.. Catch you there, If not. I might be In Oakland for the Saints game dependant on if I can get tickets to the Formula 1 in Austin Texas that weekend. (I love my aussie car drivers just as much as my raiders)

Yes, actually I was going to go to the B'more game and ultimately decided against it.  I have been fortunate to see our guys on the road in a few different cities but have been dying to get back to Oakland to see a home game.  The Atlanta game tempted me as well with hearing Greg and Juan talk about it via the podcast but this is going to be great.

Hope to see you there and hopefully you can make it!  Would be great to meet you as well.
