Whenever a Raider hater throws their statistics at you about how many consecutive losing seasons the Raiders had, or how many "non-winning" seasons....or whatever.......you can throw this statistic back at them. Ask them this...

Remind them that all NFL teams have gone through at least one period of down years. Tell them to look at the ENTIRE record book, not just the last 10 or 12 years.

Tell them that prior to the Raiders current slump of non-winning seasons (2003-2015)......how many times did the Raiders have even BACK TO BACK losing seasons, going back to when Al Davis took over as Head coach in 1963?

The answer is two. Two times they had back to back losing seasons between 1963 and 2002.
'87-'88 and '96-'97.

Wins and Losses:

1987: 5-10
1988: 7-9

1996: 7-9
1997: 4-12

That's it....just twice in 40 seasons (1963-2002) the Raiders had back to back losing seasons.

How about the other teams in the NFL?
How many times NFL teams had back to back losing seasons from 1963 to 2002?

Here is the answer:

Vikings        4
Redskins      6

Dolphins      7
49ers          7
