Nice video. The song is still a little on the weak side, compared with Total Eclipse (at least in my opinion)...but he's a big improvement over those other guys who did this same song.

Check out this site on the combine. Click on WORKOUT DRILLS, and POSITION DRILLS....and watch the videos. I love the way they've embedded the videos with Mike Mayock explaining what's happening.

http://www.nfl.com/combine/workouts

p.s. I made a topic on the forum that's dedicated to the combine, which starts tomorrow. That page, with a bunch of combine links, is here:

Whoa....you're absolutely right Robert. I guess I had that stat pretty well screwed up (hope Greg doesn't read this!) I'll go back and fix it in my original post. Thanks.

P.S. Help me with the rules....the ball bouncing off of Frenchy Fuqua made Franco Harris' reception illegal? The ball can't bounce off of one offensive player and be caught by a guy on the same team? Is that the way it works. (now I'm embarrassing myself even more with my ignorance).

the rule was that two offensive players couldn't touch the pass. if the ball had bounced off tatum, or both tatum and fuqua, then harris could have caught it. but if it only hit fuqua, then another steeler couldn't catch it.

i just started reading the book "badasses" and the author talks about that play, saying the video of the endzone shot has been lost. but if you google "immaculate reception," you'll find the video on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xMDIcsUMmA

43 seconds into the clip, they show the endzone shot and you can see that the ball hits fuqua and not harris. or at least that's how it appears in the tiny video. i remember watching this on my DVR, with a better picture, and it's pretty obvious the ball hit fuqua and not tatum.

but what a stupid rule. who cares if the ball hits one offensive player ... why even make that rule in the first place?

Here is a classic video that was posted on YouTube this week. The 1973 AFC Championship Game between the Raiders and the Dolphins, played on December 30, 1973.

Doesn't that seem weird? The AFC Championship Game on December 30th? It's because there were only 14 games in the season. The regular season ended on December 14th that year.

This video (split up into 4 YouTube videos) doesn't show the entire game, but it isn't a highlight film. It's parts of the game, as the game was actually broadcast....with the entire intro...including the old NBC Sports NFL theme music. Really brings back memories. I was almost as young as Juan then!  ;D

In the intro, they said a lot of people were calling this "the REAL SUPERBOWL"....that the Dolphins and Raiders were the two best teams in the NFL. They said that earlier in this 1973 season, the Raiders had ended a Dolphins 18 game win streak. Remember, the Dolphins won back to back Superbowls in '72 and '73 (and lost in the '71 Superbowl to the Cowboys)......so the Dolphins were the defending Superbowl champions coming into this AFC Championship game with the Raiders...following the Dolphins perfect 17-0 season in '72.

Thank you Randy! These pre-date my Raiderhood (I was 2 yrs old) but I love to see our legends on film. These were the guys who drew me in as a kid and to see them  play in this era is very special. I  'ripped' them before they take em' down!
Thank you again!
And BTW, sorry to see some of Raider Mike's vids get zapped by YT and the NFL :(

Although the Raiders ended up losing this game, and the Dolphins went on the win their 2nd consecutive Superbowl, the Raiders got revenge the following year in '73 by knocking the Dolphins out of the playoffs....only to come up short of the Superbowl themselves due the "immaculate reception" in the '74 AFC Championship game....and the Steelers went on to win their first Superbowl.

Didn't the Immaculate Deception happen in 1972? In a divisional playoff game? The Raiders lost to the Steelers (even though the endzone camera shot clearly shows the ball bouncing off Fuqua), and then the Steelers lost to the Dolphins in the AFC Championship.

Rod Woodson talking about why he's moving into NFL coaching after seven years with NFL network. He says he's already spending full days at the Raiders facility. He says that the Raiders will be doing new things on defense this year that will give the DBs more chances at some interceptions, including Nnamdi if he resigns with the Raiders. A great six minute interview with lots of information.

A very good video from "Chronicle Live", recorded on 1/18/11....shortly after Hue Jackson's hiring press conference.

Greg Papa interviews Raiders beat writer Jerry McDonald, Hue Jackson, and others...and gives us some insight on why Tom Cable was not retained as head coach.

Great interview.  You can tell both Groves and Ford are proud to be Raiders and know what needs to be done next season.  Quentin alluded to the fact that several key losses really came back to bite us in the ass this year and that cannot happen next year.  Jacoby seems like a really great kid, very humble for the amount of ridiculous highlights he provided the Raider Nation this year.  I also liked that they mentioned that Hue Jackson pushes them hard in practice.  Nice to hear our new HC has tons of passion for the game.  Can't wait 'til next season!

"Raiders Unplugged 2011"
21 minute interview of Jacoby Ford and Quentin Groves on everything Raiders
by Comcast SportsNet reporter Kate Longworth

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE1IbIpqD8A

This was a great interview.
Topics discussed:

What stands out as the highest and lowest spots of the 2010 season?

What was it about the rookie class of 2010 that made them stand out?

What game stands out to each of you from 2010?

Could you feel the stress of the need to win games vs division opponents like San Diego who had been beating the Raiders in prior years?

How did it feel to sweep San Diego?

Describe the Denver at Denver game. Your feelings on how Darren McFadden performed.

Jason Campbellā€¦.what kind of guy is he?

What was it like when Jason Campbell was pulled after six quarters? What was it like when Campbell and Gradkowski were alternating at QB spot?

Describe how Campbell and Gradkowski differ as QBs and in personality. How they compare as QBs.

What's it like to be a player on Al Davis' team? What it's like to wear the silver and black. The support of Raider Nation at home and on the road.

The interview was in progress when news of Coach Cable's dismissal came out. Jacoby Ford and Quentin Groves learned of this development from the ComCast interviewer Kate Longworth, and she got their immediate feelings about it.

Hue Jacksonā€¦.what does he bring to the Raiders?

What is Hue Jackson saying on the sidelines? During practice. During games.

The "bittersweet" feel at the end of the season. Sweeping the division but not making the playoffs. The close losses that cost them the playoffs.

Groves says the Raiders would have made "a lot of noise" in the playoffs if they had gotten in.

Are the elements in place for the Raiders to make the playoffs in 2011?

Groves breaks down the team position by position, player by player.
He says that this year, the Raiders won't be thinking playoffs, they'll be thinking World Championship.

well, ALMOST the complete video.

I kept waiting to see if anyone would post the press conference on YouTube, and when no one did....I had to record it myself...using my iPhone in front of my TV (I had used my DVR to record the conference). Didn't finish until 1:30am (and had to get up for work at 6:15)...but someone had to do it!

I had to divide it up into 8 segments, which I posted on our home page. There are a few minutes of material missing between some of the segments, because my iPhone would only allow 10 minute segments and on some I had recorded close to 15....so I lost 3-5 minutes at the end of each segment, but most of it is there:

I wonder if these guys have ever even been to the Coliseum. You can tell that their band was "blue screened" into the Coliseum background image.

JustBlogBaby is polling people asking which Raiders song is best, this one or Ice Cube's "Raider Nation" song.

http://justblogbaby.com/2010/02/19/ice-cube-or-killroy-better-raider-nation-fight-song/

i only got thru 29 seconds of that crap before i stopped playing it. the best song is the one by the hazmat boyz. "total eclipse." a song for the nation by the nation. ice cube's song is OK, but it sounds like he wrote it in 30 seconds. and "we are the raiders"? puh-leese. seriously, how many times in a row would you want to hear that blasting at a tailgate party?

"we are the raiders, we are the raiders, we are the raiders, we are the raiders ..." um, who are you? what's your team's name? it's not clear to me. say it a few more times. "we are the raiders, we are the raiders, we are the raiders, we are the raiders ..."

what's hilarious is that the dolts actually play that 1970s disco song in their stadium during games. without randy's added car crash sound effects, of course.

I luv this song/video...you've gotta hear and see this.

The HazMat Boyz were at the Biletnikoff Monte Carlo Night event last night...and performed that song for us in the room where the silent auction was going on. All of a sudden things weren't quite so "silent".

I bet things weren't quite so silent anymore...THAT SONG PUMPS ME UP...IT'S MY NEW FAVORITE SONG, I LUV IT!!
