The slight possibility that Raiders return to LA would cause some anger for sure amoung the Oakland locals.  But that didnt stop Al Davis before and it most likely won't stop him again (if he decides to move). 

About all the blackouts the past few or so seasons - someone posted that it was due to the rebellion of the raider nation because of the shitty product on the field (Jamarcus Russell) - BULLSHIT!!!...the Raiders, a few years prior to Russell being drafted, lets just look at 1995 through 2005 ...88 home games and only 24 sell outs!...I'm sure someone will come up with some other EXCUSE why we didnt sell out, but facts are facts...either people come see the team, or they dont...and I dont really care how long the wait list was for tickets 15-20 years ago, ticket availability IS NOT everlasting like a Superbowl trophy or a HOF induction.


Also, I think it is absolutely HILARIOUS that THE SAME PEOPLE who claim that they are the "faithfull" are the SAME EXACT people who claim they won't spend one more dollar on the Raiders and even try to spread the "Dont spend your money or time on the Raiders" propoganda until they put a better product on the field! So which is it? Faithful?...or I'll only be 'faithfull' if they win?

And finally, I will say this,  Just because some people are geographically closer to where the Raiders play DOES NOT make you more of a "faithful fan"...that's ridiculous!  Some people have responsibilities outside of obsessing over the Raiders 24/7, like families, house payments, etc.

Spending more of your $$MONEY$$ and attending games doesnt make you a better fan, all that means is that you have a disposable income and more free time than other fans...buying tickets doesnt make you any more "faithful".

Last time I checked...It's called RAIDER NATION!...not Oakland/Alameda Nation.

Lets me say this, If the Raiders were to come back to L.A. the fan base since the 80's has increased and SOME of that criminal element is gone, no less than what goes on there at the coliseum today.There will be no problem filling a stadium full of Raider fans in L.A. Why do you think they have Raider Image stores in L.A., Inland Empire, Riverside communities not just for show. Dont just look at that 80's fan base that was there the fan base is strong, big and sells alot of merchandise today. If you drive down the freeways in L.A. to San Diego you wont miss a vehicle without a Raiders bumpersticker, window decals etc.....I would love for the Raiders to come back to L.A. but at this point as a long life Raider fan, I could care the fuck less where their from!...They can move to New York, England, China.....lol..... I guess another thing that's irks me about Raidermike's comments is the fact that he doesn't think the Los Angeles faithful could sell out there stadium.

The Raiders can't even sell out in the staduim they are in now...7 Straight black outs last year after the opener against San Diego...FUCK!...since returning to Oakland (15 years), the Raiders have only sold out 44 of 120 home games...almost half of the 44 sell outs were during the Gruden years...hell, the Raiders had problems selling out when they were in Los Angeles also, but then again, the LA Coliseum held 90,000 plus seats...more wins will put more asses in the seats - band wagon fans, fair weather fans, mixed in with the die hard faithfull.

As Raiderfan Until Death duely pointed out was back in the day the Raiders were playing in a stadium in front of 90,000 people in one of the most dangerous parts of the planet... Now i for one know that where these stadiums are proposed to be built in Los Angeles is in BOOM PRIME REDEVELOPMENT land.

There's the stadium which will be built in Downtown Los Angeles near the Staples Center & then the project out at the City of Industry (im pretty sure City of Industry isn't a crime free area) but i don't think Roger Goodell would allow that Gang Violence of the L.A Raiders of the 80's/90's to happen again as the football team is basically a extension of the National Football League & every effort would be undertaken to make sure it's a family friendly area.(L.A is a different city post RODNEY KING)

Plus i think the Los Angeles fans would be Foaming rabid at the mouth for a NFL team (my mates in L.A in particular, put there Raiders love on the backburner and followed USC religiously) But the City of Los Angeles is ready to embrace a NFL team. (They haven't had a team for over 15 years) plus if the Raiders left Oakland then there's always the option of what happened to a good proportion of their fanbase in the early 80's & that's you could jump ship and follow the San Francisco 49'ers! (not a option for the hardcore i guess)

i see where mikes coming from big time i know im in oakland every home game i would not want them raiders to move period. They belong in oakland however it doesnt matter to you oscar you dont leave here you are still going to go to your 1 or 2 games a year me if they move will be much more difficult to so saying that you would rather have them in LA strikes many nerves. I think the people of Oakland are more defensive about a move because they've lost them once they don't want it to happen again. The fans are passionate in the bay area but they see los angeles as a threat cause they know al only returned cause he was playing hardball with Los angeles govt officials

As for this "criminal", "riff raff", and "violent" element that existed in L.A. during Raider games. Oakland is not immune. I have been to a game in Oakland. I watched many a Raider fan escorted out of the stadium during the game. Many of whom were fighting with other Raider fans.

The Oakland Raiders are just that, the Oakland Raiders. But at one time they were the Los Angeles Raiders(winning a Super Bowl in the process), and they were embraced by the people of L.A. and still are in huge numbers. I could care less where they play. No matter the city, they are the Raiders. I will root for them no matter what.

Raidermike. U can choose to believe that i want to see loyal fans get screwed over but that's furtherest from the truth. If the raiders packed up n left the bay area it's because nfl owners would not want to fund 2 seperate projects in the bay area. The reason i posted the Santa Clara stadium development as it throws a spanner into the works in regards to the raiders future in the bay area.

If u must know why i'm supportive of the Raiders moving to Los Angeles (granted im supportive of them staying too, not really phased) it's because i believe raiders would have a easier time recruiting free agents if they were in Los Angeles (whether that's to do FA's wanting to move to a larger media market or whether it's due to Oakland's bad rep as a crime city of america)

You're right about the needing the funding part.....the DeBartolos had their new stadium project approved by the voters years ago, but that never got built. Actually, according to the article below....they had the funding, but it fell through anyway.

However, even after voter approval to grant economic help for the project, the stadium was not constructed as the project failed to get off the ground. NFL owners had gone as far as awarding the new stadium the rights to host Super Bowl XXXVII. When the stadium plans stalled, the game went to Qualcomm Stadium instead.

For years, the city and team ownership were embattled over attempts to gain funding and a green-light for construction of a new stadium. None of these attempts proved to be successful.

My reasoning for that is Roger Goodell has always wanted the 2 Bay Area teams to play in the same Bay Area Stadium, & i just don't see Al Davis moving into this complex because it's too far of a journey for his fanbase.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with our RAIDERS in the next few years, Amy Trask has gone on record saying stuff about the Raiders committed to Oakland (YADAYADYA) Until i see something in writing, then i'll believe it when i see it.

Allthough if the Oakland Athletics do pack up & leave, that could leave us in a unique position where we could just upgrade the current stadium to house more seats etc.

(If any renovations do happened to the Collesium & it was to affect our playing season, i'd be open to a return to L.A for one season & play out of the Collesium down there)

Sorry guys, i know some of you might not be open to a debate about the Raiders moving, But i just see the writing on the wall (in a potential) pack up & leave scenario, as i see Al Davis last season renegotiating his lease at the Collesium til 2013 as a short term fix with a "Wait & see" what happens elsewhere.

Bengals panthers & jags) & u can't forget how many bird teams there are in the nfl.

Why would Al Davis have a case? The Raiders aren't in L.A., and they don't have any rights to the L.A. area.

Dude. I'm probably guessing your self employed & can't remember what it's like being a employee at a new company. But whenever i start a new job. I'm usually having a good look at what my work colleagues get up. If there's a culture of productivity then i usually keep my head down n get straight to work. But if there's a culture of bludging then i kick back n do nothing. RUSSELL ARRIVED at a organization with no leadership and a owner who Keeps paying the underperforming, not exactly the place u come to rejuvenate or kickstart your career. I can't ever recall Daunte being a gym junkie. The sleeping in meetings was totally unacceptable. But 100% blame in my eyes goes on the coaching staff for allowing that practice. If u want to call a vetran backup quarterback a babysitter, fine so be it. But i like to think of the role more as a P.A (like all important ceo n vip have in organizations) . . . So yeah Russell basically arrived at the raiders knowing he wasn't to be held accountable for anything & to a organisation where if your the owners pet then u qualify with getting away with murder. (PS. Why the Fuck would i have a poster of Russell on my ceiling. My bedroom ain't that big, what do u think i live in a aircraft hangar? Lol)

But looking on it as a strictly numbers game. The Raiders would move to L.A for that Chunk of the Pie... Don't mistaken Al Davis for a guy who breathes football, he also breathes money brother. Al's probably got all those L.A Raiders banners and posters locked up in a warehouse, ready to roll out when he moves back... The Synergy of doing a Stint already in L.A & going to there OTHER HOME... Well He'd probably leave Oakland just for more dollars in Tinseltown.

But anyways bro, I know u think i'm going to keep defending this guy Russell & keep defending this guy...
