Dennis Allen's father Grady Allen
« Reply #672 on: December 04, 2012, 03:44:30 AM »
The link below is to a Texas A & M forum (Dennis Allen and his father Grady Allen played football at Texas A & M)......I'm not sure if it's accurate, but one of the posts on that forum says,

"Grady Allen '68 suffered cardiac arrest and is in ICU in DFW area. Grady played on the 1968 Cotton Bowl team and went on to an NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons. His son Dennis Allen is currently HC of the Oakland Raiders. Our prayers go out to Grady and family."

Note that Grady Allen's Aggies won the '68 Cotton Bowl against Alabama, who had a QB by the name of Ken Stabler.

Carson Palmer says of Greg Knapp, "he does a great job"...
« Reply #669 on: October 29, 2012, 05:31:18 PM »
Carson Palmer made a comment after the win in Kansas City which praised the job offensive coordinator Greg Knapp does. In this article it says:

"Palmer threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns and said a lot of big plays came as a result of Knapp's protection calls.

"His timing was awesome," Palmer said. "He kept getting us into maximum protection, and we had eight guys against their seven on a lot of our big plays. He does a great job."

Despite all the lore of the Raiders being a dirty team, Al wouldn't have paid bounties for taking out players. He expected you to take out players as part of your regular salary. Take out some big players and your next contract might be bigger, but there wouldn't be a specific bonus tied to taking someone out. Al was too smart re: the rules, and too much of a bad ass to expect his players to anything less than hit people as hard as they could.

So in that sense the fact that the Saints had to pay people extra to get them to hit Favre or Warner harder is kind of sad. Weren't their players already motivated enough?
How do you think that the media would have spun it if the Raiders did do it? Can you imagine the on slot of CRAP that would flow from "THE DIRTIEST TEAM IN SPORTS" OR  How about this one "THE GREATNESS IS IN THERE BOUNTY HUNTING"...... Now the Saints fly under the radar with some small fines and a slap on the wrist...... Priceless.....You know that the NFL will try to glaze over this one....... Classic NFL.... :o
Well Dennis Allen could be in trouble because he was there during the time that bountys were being put up and could get in trouble, but it is very unlikely.
