One more year of Dennis Allen.  Until Reggie McKenzie gets the players he wants to win, he won't have a coach who can win.  Raiders will get #3 draft pick this year and probably another high pick next year.  If Allen wins with the current roster, it would be hard to dump him.  McKenzie is rebuilding.  Works out for Allen, he gets head coaching experience so he can be better prepared for his next gig.  Raiders don't pay much for a head coach while rebuilding and lets be honest.  What decent head coach would take the raider job with the recent history?  This is why Mora will be a great hire.  He wants back into the NFL but most teams won't give him a shot.  Look at the job he has done with the current UCLA quarterback.  He will be able to accommodate the gifts Pryor possesses or McKenzie doesn't know what the fuck he is doing

The argument that upsets me is when raider fans say "But we can't keep firing coaches year after year"

That's all good and well in terms of Al Davis, but Reggie hired the wrong guy. When we have another 4-12 season next year and have to fire Dennis Allen next offseason then I'm sure be waiting with anticipation for everyone who anticipated stability.

The Dennis Allen/Reggie McKenzie regime is/was bound to be a train wreck because there is not one offensive mind in that partnership. Reggie needs to hire a Offensive guru.

Can't stress how unexcited I have been for a raiders team. I'm still gonna come to games and tailgate with the badboys of bbq but after my last trip abroad this november I'm not gonna expect a whole lot of effort and fight in this raider dog when they're being coached by a preschooler.

Well said.

Well, Millernation claims that DA is just keeping the HC seat warm until next year  :o

Word is that Andy Reid is going to KC.  The Raiders better think long and hard about this open OC position and hire WISELY.  I am not too worried about Andy Reid, a good coach but he is a soft coach.  This is not a 2000-2004 Eagles squad with McNabb, Westbrook, Owens, Kearse, etc.  However, I am worried if SD gets the likes of a Gruden (God no!) or similar.   The point is though is that the division is getting better, and we better stay competitive.

Allen is and was simply not ready to be a HC.  He should have stayed a DC for a while.  You know my feelings on this staff.  I drank the kool-aid last off-season and believed these clowns would right the ship.  They failed.  As far as I am concerned, if you are unsuccessful - you need to go. The only saving grace - bloated salaries, dead weight, unproductive players, etc.  Next year, Allen has no excuse.  EITHER DOES MCKENZIE.

We just have to wait and see.

Keeping DA is stupid mistake and he will fail...like he did this year and I'll be back in here to remind everyone about right now..... Bottom line he can't coach in the NFL and is incapable of leading men..... From this point on....I no longer will blame DA....anything that happens now is squarly on Mark Davis for allowing this to happen.....Now all these people that were saying "No way Gruden leaves the booth" we'll where are you now?  Reports all over officially that Grudem wants to coach again....and may go to SD....if that is true ...not only do have to deal with Denver and Manning....but dealing with Gruden and Rivers twice a year will guarantee us ZERO Super Bowls for the next 5 years....take that to the bank....and all the blame will be on Mark Davis....I won't even care about DA or RM anymore from this point cause i seen what they produce....4 losses WORSE then Hue Jackson and Tom Cable the last two years! This is ALL Mark Davis's decision now
AGREED!!!! ITS NOT EVEN REGGIE.... MARK HAS LEFT THIS GREAT TEAM TO REGGIE WHO SUCKED BALLS AT HIS FRIST JOB HERE.... HIRING A GOOD COACH! NOW WE WILL BE FUCKED BY THIS LAME MOVE AND STUCK WITH A COACH WITH ZERO PASSION AND ZERO RESPECT FROM THE TEAM. HIS ENTIRE "ITS A BUSINESS" RANT LATELY MADE ME SICK! FUCK HIM... GO MAKE COFFEE MUGS OR SOMETHING ELSE.... THIS IS THE RAIDERS... A ONCE GREAT FOOTBALL TEAM..... MARK DAVIS BETTER GET A CLUE BECAUSE HIS NEXT MOVE MIGHT BE HIS LAST AS AN OWNER..... IF WE DONT GO AFTER GRUDEN HARD AND JUST DEMOTE ALLEN TO D COACH THEN THIS IS WAY MORE FUCKED UP THAN EVER! IF GRUDEN GOES TO THE BOLTZ WE WILL BE FUCKED FOR MORE THAN 5 SEASONS WE WILL BE THE NEW CLEVELAND BROWNS OF THE NFL..... IM SICK THINKING ABOUT THIS CRAP.....

aand now its seems the Chiefs may actually pull in Andy Reid. You have got to be kidding me. Will we even have a chance in the division any more? Something major is going to have to happen to give us any sort of a chance.

I would like to see Saunders get the OC job and grab Whisenhunt or Shurmur as an assistant Head coach.  Learn under Saunders for a year or until he decides to retire. Only problem with that is Allen may not want to have one of them looking over his shoulders, in case he F%&*'s up.

Dennis Allen's father Grady Allen
« Reply #672 on: December 04, 2012, 03:44:30 AM »
The link below is to a Texas A & M forum (Dennis Allen and his father Grady Allen played football at Texas A & M)......I'm not sure if it's accurate, but one of the posts on that forum says,

"Grady Allen '68 suffered cardiac arrest and is in ICU in DFW area. Grady played on the 1968 Cotton Bowl team and went on to an NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons. His son Dennis Allen is currently HC of the Oakland Raiders. Our prayers go out to Grady and family."

Note that Grady Allen's Aggies won the '68 Cotton Bowl against Alabama, who had a QB by the name of Ken Stabler.

Carson Palmer says of Greg Knapp, "he does a great job"...
« Reply #669 on: October 29, 2012, 05:31:18 PM »
Carson Palmer made a comment after the win in Kansas City which praised the job offensive coordinator Greg Knapp does. In this article it says:

"Palmer threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns and said a lot of big plays came as a result of Knapp's protection calls.

"His timing was awesome," Palmer said. "He kept getting us into maximum protection, and we had eight guys against their seven on a lot of our big plays. He does a great job."
