Show #256 Online: "Bengals @ Raiders Postgame Show - VICTORY!"
« Reply #84 on: November 25, 2009, 09:09:11 PM »

TOPICS:

Segment #1: "Bengals @ Raiders Postgame Show - VICTORY!"

We celebrate the 20-17 win last Sunday at the Coliseum. Raider Greg tells you the story of our day, beginning with the always great tailgate party Tailgaters Barbecue Party "The Bad Boys of BBQ". We had the Crusader Raider Keith Smith for the 2nd home game in a row, and Keith finally got to witness a win...for the first time in 4 years. The last was against Buffalo in 2005. Keith comes over every year, and it is about time he got to do some real cheering.

We also got to interview a group of very confident Bengals fans before the game (and the few we could find after the game). We will air that interview soon on our Raider Nation Videocast, but we give you some audio from that in this podcast.

Segment #2: "Dallas Cowboys Pregame Thoughts"

Greg gives us a little snippet of a pregame show for the Cowboys.

Segment #3: "Happy Thanksgiving Raider Nation"

Greg gives our sincere Thanksgiving well wishes to the entire Raider Nation, as well as everyone else....but ESPECIALLY to Raider Nation.

If we get a lot of calls we may not be able to air all of them, so make them good. Preference may be given to first time callers. Sorry if your call is not aired. Please call back to get on another show.

Also, when you call the Boneline, try to call on a landline and not a cellphone. The quality is better. When you speak, hold the mouthpiece of the phone close to your mouth and speak in a normal voice. Don't yell, just speak normally. Sometimes we get calls that are way too soft or way too loud, and we can't put those calls on.

TOPICS:

Segment #1: "A Tribute To Al Davis"........Why?

On this week's "Raiders Report", a TV show that airs weekly on the west coast and also is available afterwards on Raiders.com, they featured a one hour special entitled: "Al Davis: An AFL Legend (Looking back at Raiders owner Al Davis' contributions to pro football). It was a very well produced program, and Raider Greg tells you how he felt as he watched it, and the information that the program contains. We recommend that you watch the show yourself.

Here is the website url that will take you straight to the video:
http://www.raiders.com/media-vault/videos/Al-Davis-An-AFL-Legend/5371556c-3ad7-4d4a-ab52-d571143e392a

Segment #2: "Cable Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"

Greg talks about the never-ending controversy surrounding Coach Cable. Raiders CEO Amy Trask is heading up an investigation into the matter and she's working with and reporting to the NFL. "The NFL has triggered an evaluation process under the personal conduct policy for Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable to determine whether he needs mandatory counseling...logistics are being communicated for a timetable in which Cable will be evaluated by independent doctors". Where will be the outcome?

Here are a few good articles relating to the issue:

Segment #3: "Raiders Fan vs Raiders Fan"

Half way through the 7th consecutive disappointing Raiders season, Raiders fans are becoming stressed out to the point of attacking one another on blogs, forums, etc. Disagreements, accusing other fans of being less of a fan, etc. Raider Greg shares his observations on the matter.

Segment #4: "Queef The Chiefs!"

The Pregame Show for this weeks home game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. They let for most of the game in K.C., and the Raiders stole a victory in the final two minutes. The Chiefs will want to take an early lead in this game and hold on to it this time. The Raiders will want to do the same, since they have a hard time coming from behind in games. Plus, the Chiefs are one of only a few teams left on the Raiders schedule who have a losing record. The Raiders can't afford to lose this game. Raider Greg gives his thoughts.

Show #249 Online - "Broncos at Raiders Postgame"
« Reply #77 on: October 03, 2009, 04:41:11 PM »

TOPICS:

Segment #1:  "Broncos at Raiders Postgame"

The painful story of the Raiders' loss to the Denver Broncos at home by the score of 23-3. After three games played this season, JaMarcus Russell has the worst quarterback rating of any NFL quarterback, and also leads the league in many other undesirable categories. Raider Greg gives his take on this situation.

Also, in this postgame segment, Greg shares a take from the RAIDERTAKE blog. You can read that entire blog article on the Broncos Postgame here:  http://raidertake.blogspot.com/2009/09/broncos-pregame-take.html

Segment #2:  "Where Do We Go From Here?"

We have had a segment with this same title at the end of the last couple of seasons. This season Raider Greg chose to do a "where do we go from here?" segment after only the first three games. After 6 years of losing seasons (and now going on 7), this sentiment seems to be the unescapable question throughout the Raider Nation. Raider Greg gives his feelings.

Segment #3:  The Boneline

In this show we hear from 19 callers to our toll-free voicemail "Boneline". We have too many calls to air them all. We apologize if your call didn't make it onto this show.

In this Boneline segment, we took a new approach. This one is titled, "The Raider Nation Podcast Group Therapy Session". After that loss to the Broncos at home, we felt that Raider Nation was in need of a little "therapy". It was therapeutic for Raider Greg. We hope you get some benefit from it as well.

We had 19 "Patients" who participated in this week's GROUP THERAPY SESSION:

C-Money
Double X Raider
J-Dogg
Juan Jorge
Raider Mike from Chico
Las Vegas Raider
LouDogg
ObiWan Raider
Pennsylvania Raider
Raider Maniac
Raider Mike from Gainesville, Florida
Raider Syd
Raider Chris from Scranton, Pennsylvania
Raider Dee
Raider Ho
Raider Steve from Vegas
Raider Sully
The Surface Raider (from the UK)
Upstate New York Raider

TOPICS:

Segment #1:  "Stop The Timidity"

Raider Greg reads an article from one of our favorite Raider blogs, the RaiderTake. The title of the article is "Stop The Timidity", and the theme is that the Raiders should not use a conservative, gradual approach in regards to our rookie players (and our 2nd and 3rd year players). We should play them aggressively. Raider Greg adds his thoughts.

You can read the article "Stop the Timidity" (and other great articles) on the RaiderTake blog here:  http://raidertake.blogspot.com/2009/06/stop-timidity.html

Segment #2:  Believe it or not....The Chiefs Could Take The AFC West......NOT!

From an article in the Kansas City Star website entitled, "Believe it: This is how the Chiefs can win the AFC West in 2009".

The author outlines reasons why the Chiefs could win the division. He mentions the Chargers and Broncos, but there is not one mention of the Raiders in the article at all, as if they are no threat at all in the division. Raider Greg covers the article, plus adds opinions from Chiefs fans who commented at the end of the article. Very interesting.

Segment #1:  "THE NFL Draft...IT'S A CRAPSHOOT!"

We all know that the NFL draft is pretty much a "crap shoot", just like the luck of the dice. No one knows how the players will actually pan out in the long run, but Raider Greg will go over some of the possibilities that the Raiders have for players that could help the team. Greg uses as a reference David White's blog from SFgate.com, where Mr. White analyzes the Raiders draft possibilities. See the article here:
