Quietly, RM is building a team of underachievers on our football team. Cast-offs with heart and a passion for the game. Love the signings of Jenkins, Porter, Roach and Carter. John Clayton reported that Oakland will have
70 MILLION in cap space next year. I know there are differing opinions on this board, but clearing the dead money and over-achieving players in two off-seasons is nothing short of remarkable.
As for me, there is NOT ONE player I was sad to see go. Huff, Wimbley, DHB, Seymour, Goodson, Palmer, the list goes on. They are all expendable. For me, there are ONLY THREE guys on this team from the old guard that we should keep - Branch, Jano and DMAC. As for McFadden, it's his contract year......if he doesn't produce or stay healthy, he's gone. Bottom line.
I know a lot of fans wonder why we don't get big name coaches, players, etc. Well, we haven't won DICK in over a decade. This organization was so dysfunctional....if you were Bill Cowher, would you want to come here? We are finally getting the stability we have desperately wanted for YEARS.
These players will play because they will be given contracts next off-season if they perform.
I think McKenzie knows EXACTLY what he is doing. This is how the big boys do it - the teams that win consistently year in and year out. They build from the draft. The Free Agency high risk Al days are over.
As a Raider fan, I am all in for Reggie McKenzie.............as for Dennis Allen, not so much
